IMPROVE CONNECTION RELIABILITY

High humidity, or worse yet – periodic or continuous water splash, offer an extra challenge to any good vibration sensor / cable installation.

Manufacturers such as Wilcoxon Research, Inc have come along way in both sensor design and cable connection. Hermetically sealed sensors and cable connectors incorporating Viton o-rings and electrical connections embedded in epoxy allow products to be installed in the most severe applications.

TIP: INSTALLATION TECHNIQUE INCREASES RELIABILITY

Many of our customers have already experienced the benefits of using Wilcoxon’s SILPAK or SILGREASE products when permanently installing vibration sensor systems. And for many of these customers, silicone packing of field connections has become part of a standard plant installation practice, regardless of service requirements.

SILPAK and SILGREASE are a non-curing, non-conductive silicone based grease that can be applied to the connector prior to making the final connection. Suitable for most services in the temperature range of – 40 to + 400 degrees F, SILPAK and SILGREASE provide an extra barrier against moisture penetration. The non-curing characteristic of this product ensures the connector is easily removed during future equipment overhaul or replacement.
